Anti-Stick Coatings

Anti-stick coating agents are special coatings which are applied to the surface of mold or die in aim to prevent the material from sticking by being sintered to the mold. These release agents are typically made from heat-resistant polymers or ceramics and are designed to withstand extremely high temperatures and pressures where the materials are exposed to during the sintering process.

Main benefit of using an anti-stick coating is to realize a clean separation of the sintered part from the mold or die, hence reducing the risk of damaging the surface of the finished part. Anti-stick coatings are mostly used in the production of ceramics, metals, and other materials where high temperatures are required for sintering processes.

With that being said, it is important to select a high temperature resisting anti-stick coating agent that is compatible with the material which is being sintered along with the specific sintering process on which the material is exposed to. Using an incompatible release agent can in result surface defects or even worse to the catastrophic failure of the mold or die.
